DetermiNation

As you may or may not know, my aunt was diagnosed with a rare form of appendix cancer this summer. I wanted to help and/or show my love and support, but wasn't sure how. Then, I thought, I can run!

I have joined DetermiNation, which is the American Cancer Society’s nation of athletes determined to end cancer. I copy and pasted this description of Determination from their website: "This powerful and inspiring movement saves lives by enabling athletes to dedicate their training and participation in marathons, triathlons, cycling races, and other endurance events to a lifesaving effort to fight a disease that has already taken too many lives".

I have signed up to run in the Atlanta Half Marathon in honor of my Aunt on Thanksgiving Day, and I am currently training for it now. I am raising money, in the form of donations for the American Cancer Society along the way while training. I am doing this because I want to help raise as much money as I can to help the ACS pay for people who can't afford treatments, develop new drugs that prolong life, and hopefully one day find a cure. There is no minimum donation amount and every donation makes a difference, even if it is only $5. Please join me in the fight against Cancer in honor of my Aunt and millions of other people who have lost their lives, as well as the millions more who are currently fighting.

Hopefully I don't look like this after running on Thanksgiving! Ha!
