This notice is to inform you that your actions have violated the following rules according to the terms of your gestational agreement:

As of 41 weeks (Sunday) you will have overstayed your welcome!

You will be officially evicted the evening of Sunday, November 29 around 6pm.

39 Weeks

I just returned from another visit to the doctor's office this morning. The midwife that checked me today said I am MAYBE a 1/2 cm dilated and about 60% effaced, so not much progress from last week. I am scheduled on Tuesday for an ultrasound, and at that point they will make a decision about induction.

24 Pounds

Chad has been responsible for taking pictures of me every week to document the growing belly. Here is the result 24 pounds and 39 weeks later! Did I mention I love my Mac? Not too bad for my first time using iMovie.

38 Weeks

It's official - less than 10 days left on the preggo ticker. Ev shows no signs of leaving the womb though. The doctor checked for dilation this morning and I am at a whopping zero with 40% effacement.

With that said, we enjoying our last few days of married with no kids status. Last night several of the neighborhood ladies took me to Kosmo for dinner and graciously sprinkled me with some baby boy love. (Yes, I agree, we have some really wonderful neighbors.) Tonight, Steve and Marci are coming up for probably the last time without a little Schloerke around.

We have no other plans for the weekend. All of the critical baby gear is assembled, clothes washed, monitors charged, and bags packed. If I'm feeling energetic, I may do some cooking to stock the freezer, or perhaps some baking to bribe all the OB nurses to give me all the good drugs! :-)

Maybe one last movie at the theatre would be appropriate?

37 Weeks

This morning I had my 37 week OB appointment. It was short and sweet with really nothing to report other than I tested negative for Beta Strep. Next week's appointment they will check the cervix for dilation. It could be any day now! Here is the weekly belly picture.

Bob Ross, Really?

Last night we went out for Halloween at the Dixie Tavern with our Steve and Marci friends! I was going to be a party pooper, but ten minutes before we were going to leave my "trophy husband" talked me into dressing up as a NASCAR fan. Needless to say, my ten minute costume was a huge hit!

Marci entered me into the unique category of the costume contest. Unfortunately Bob Ross (yes, the painter on PBS) beat me out for top prize, but I was in the running! What you can't see in these pictures is a cigarette behind my right ear and a barbed wire tattoo on my right arm! The "beer belly" came in handy tonight!

I Don't Care About Your Weight

This is what the doctor of the week told me today. Apparently he is of the opinion that it doesn't matter what the scale says, as long as I am not putting on too much weight. At any rate, I gained two more pounds from my last appointment. Baby is measuring fine and the doctor estimates he weighs roughly 5.5 lbs. If I go three more weeks, he says the baby will be around 7 lbs. Let's see if he is correct!

Dr. Sharon also said that his head is down and is already pretty low. Maybe that means I will go early? Let's hope for Grandma Karen's sake, it would be awfully disappointing if she arrived on the 28th and we had no grandchild to let her hold!

36 Weeks

Tomorrow is my 36 week drs. appointment. On my last visit, I had not gained any weight since September 11. I am crossing my fingers I have been able to gain weight, otherwise they are going to have me drink Ensure! I had some help on the eating front from Danielle, Fred and Petre the last two weeks. Two sets of out-of-town visitors to twist my arm to have dessert! BTW, I highly recommend the nutella and burnt marshmallow milkshake from Flip Burger Boutique!

Overall, I am still feeling well. I've become an insomniac, but everyone keeps telling me it is good practice.
